RESOLUTION NO. 2026-2
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TOWN CLERK TO APPOINT ELECTION JUDGES
FOR THE TOWN OF HOLLY REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS TO BE HELD
THE FIRST TUESDAY OF APRIL IN EACH EVEN-NUMBERED YEAR AND ESTABLISHING A RATE OF PAY
WHEREAS, The Town of Holly regular municipal elections will be held the first Tuesday of April in each even-numbered year according to Colorado Revised Statute 31-1-101 (10) (a); and
WHEREAS, Colorado Revised Statute 31-10-401 requires the governing body of the municipality, or the Town Clerk if so designated by the governing body, to appoint judges of the elections at least 15 days prior to election day; and
WHEREAS, Colorado Revised Statute 31-10-408 establishes that election judges will receive as full compensation for their services as judges of elections not less than five dollars and not more than the maximum amount allowed by statute for payment to the judges of the general election of the state of Colorado, as determined by the governing body of the municipality; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the Town of Holly is the governing body for the Municipality.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Holly:
Section 1. The Town Clerk, on every even-number year that an election is to take place, is hereby authorized to appoint all required election judges for the Town of Holly Regular Municipal Elections or any required Special Municipal Elections in accordance with the Colorado Revised Statutes.
Section 2. The appointed judges will receive a specified amount as directed in Colorado Revised Statute 31-10-408 for services rendered and training.
Section 3. In the event that any judge cannot assume the position of judge at the appointed time, an alternate judge will be notified by the Town Clerk to fill the vacant position.
Section 4. Each election judge will receive as specified amount, to be not less than minimum wage, for each hour, or portion thereof, past the hour of 9 p.m. fulfilling the duties of judging the Town of Holly Regular Municipal or Special Municipal Elections.
